Much Ado about Ducklings

I had hoped to meet again with my friend from the Anas Platyrhynchos camp, but it appears I've been shelved for more pressing matters.

Apparently, there's been an upsurge in the number of ducklings with questionable aesthetics. "The ugly ducklings" is such a crude label to attach to these downy, grey youngsters. I don't think Anna appreciated my candor on the subject. If you're reading this, my apologies my dear. Of course, I would never intentionally liken you to the sheeple.

Writing Prompt - Lose a Sense

If you had to lose one of your senses for a year, which one would it be?

I think I know of some sheeple that have already lost their sense of propriety, not to mention their senses of fair play, justice, family, and diversity.

For myself, I would choose my sense of entitlement, to better myself as a living being. It would be quite the opportunity to really assess what I expect from others, and what I give in return. Do I mentally tally these things fairly? For the world and others truly owe us nought, and a single year of living exclusively in that reality would do many beings a world of good.

Overheard

To the sheeple who waddled their white, fluffy bums around to the barn the other night:

Had you taken this much interest in those around you before now, you would not need to skulk in shadows to eavesdrop on ducks. Really, it's indecent of you. All you succeed in doing is forcing those you have neglected, ignored even, to find other ways to live their lives without you.
